Horn of Africa needs our help!

I am honoured to be a part of the Red Cross Twitter team and this post is to bring to life some awareness in my social circle. Every bit of help is needed. But I'm also sadden by the reports in the news of the recent tragedies in Africa with the drought. Most of you may not be aware until recently but Africa is suffering with it most devastating drought. The figure that is most shocking to me is that over 30,000 of the deaths are children under 5 years old. It is only until recent coverage by major new organizations such as CNN that it has brought more awareness but time is of the essence. I hope that you can donate via these links below:

Government of Canada will match all donations until September 16, 2011.
Red Cross Donations

Donate via mobile by texting "AFRICA" to 30333 to donate $5

Some of you reading this may not be able to afford to give a donation but it doesn't stop there. You can help by spreading the word to your friends and family. Technology and social networks allow us to spread the word of the drought in Africa real quickly to everyone. The more news that is spread the better awareness for everyone that might enable other countries to take action. So please do something positive today because everything helps at this point.
